Google Code Jam History is getting longer and longer and I think that there is increasing opportunity to establish a new set of prizes for participants - not large in numbers, and one-time achievement like.
It should be aimed at people who are very interested in Google Code Jam, participate in it, but are not able to earn traditional prizes (like getting into first thousand). Examples can be: - for 10 years in a row getting into Round 1, but never into Round 2. - for 5 years in a row getting into Round 2, but never winning a T-shirt. And something similar. Apparently it should be made on a case by case basis as a special (non-regular) award and you can by querying your database estimate home many people fit this criteria. Ideally it should be not that many people, so that compared to 1,000 regular T-shirt winner number would be immaterial. Just for you consideration. I've got to this idea after reading blog of one guy who is not too much into IT, has demanding family (kids), but likes GCJ, participates every year and values style and feel of GCJ problems over any other competition. As you guessed, he is never able to get too far in the competition. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Code Jam" group.
