@bigOnion - echoing after Anton, awesome response. Even though it is my first 
time competing and I haven't really seen what others do, I already implemented 
some of the stuff you mentioned in your post - i've got all the skeleton code 
reading files and outputting results based on couple of flags. That saves me a 
minute or two compared to copy/paste :). I guess real skill as you and Paul 
pointed out comes from hours and hours of practice. 

I've looked at your Python code but my Python is very basic so I can only take 
the the overall logic out of it, not the nitty-gritty bit of individually 
crafted statements. Even if I could, I probably wouldn't as those match your 
style of thinking, not mine. 

I decided to enter this competition to have an extra incentive to learn Scala 
but right before the start of the context I realised that most of the tasks 
require imperative coding so I failed back to what I am more comfortable with 
at the moment - C#. Next year this will surely be Scala & C# of time permits :)
