Although I didn't make it to Round 3, I've been trying to solve the problems with the practice data. And I just don't understand the results for River Flow. The third case in the small input is this:
21 2 5 0 1 0 5 0 1 0 5 0 1 0 5 0 1 0 5 0 1 0 5 The expected result here is that the farmers are cheating. But it seems to me that this case can legitimately be produced by 7 farmers: 2 farmers start diverting on day 2, and toggle every second day 2 farmers start diverting on day 3, and toggle every second day 3 farmers start diverting on day 2, and toggle every day. Can anyone explain what I am missing? [Note: if the farmers were adding water instead of removing it, then this and all the other results on the practice data would make sense to me.] [Credit: I used wangyisong1996's code to figure out where my results differed from the expected ones.] Thanks in advance! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Code Jam" group.
