There's no limit for those things aside from the length of the contest. The qualification round is something like 27 hours long, so you have a lot of time for that. In subsequent rounds, you'll have more like 2.5 hours for the whole contest. You could spend the first 2.4 hours reading problems and coding and nothing else if you wanted to!
