A better idea is to insert sample test cases at random places within a test, then reject the submission if the answers for these cases are incorrect. This makes it pretty much impossible to submit a wrong output file by mistake.
This is what Hacker Cup seems to be doing, very good thing to prevent mistakes like this [1].
