Maybe they can make the practice round last a little extra time, or re-run it on Wednesday so people can have another shot at it. The good news is that the Qualification Round is so long that we should have time to figure out the system.
For what it's worth, I have a lot of sympathy for the Code Jam team, trying out a new system. Next year I expect code submission to be very smooth. This year, I expect there to be some problems with the new system -- I'm pretty sure we saw one of those on Friday -- and for us competitors to have to work a little harder.
