What do you mean by binary? It downloads as a .txt file to me. If it did something different to you, please let us know at [email protected], as that was not intended. The reason we don't use the real extensions for the language is that it may be a security risk if they were to auto-execute or auto-compile&execute. Some browsers and anti-viruses characterize files with source code extensions (in particular, .sh and .py) as a security problem. We don't want these codes to be run in anyone's machine by accident or without an explicit check by the machine's owner, since even non-malicious code can have bad consequences if run on systems other than the intended.
