Since they can't provide advice, I'll tell you how I would do it. Please
know that I'm not a lawyer, and I don't accept any liability if you use my
advice and get disqualified. :-)

# Some of the following code was adapted from Stack Overflow.
# Question:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/38140872/find-the-simplest-rational-number-between-two-given-rational-numbers
# Answer: https://stackoverflow.com/a/38151783/7881579
# Author: David Eisenstat,

I'm basing this on tiny links in the bottom-right corner of most Stack
Overflow pages, with this text: *user contributions licensed under cc by-sa
3.0 with attribution required. rev 2019.5.24.33810*
Here are the links:
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/
https://stackoverflow.blog/2009/06/25/attribution-required/

My (NOT A LAWYER) summary of the first link is "You can use it in Code Jam
as long as you properly attribute it to the original author." The second
link explains how to attribute it properly. Their language uses words like
"hyperlink" that don't apply here: I think it's directed at scummy websites
that republish Stack Overflow content with attributing it. As long as you
linked to the question or answer, you're probably OK, but I'll personally
do the full attribution I suggested above.
