This is a friendly reminder that the 2020 Code Jam Qualification Round <https://codingcompetitions.withgoogle.com/codejam/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=gamma&utm_campaign=reg_promo&src=Online/TOPs/CJ> begins in less than 24 hours. The round will be open for 27 hours, starting April 3 at 23:00 UTC and ending April 5 at 2:00 UTC. You can spend as much or as little of the time competing as you'd like, but you must score at least 30 points to advance to Code Jam’s Round 1. If you're a new competitor who is comfortable with programming, the odds are good that you will be able to earn enough points to advance within a few hours. Here’s what else you need to know: - There's been a minor update in how we score multiple submissions of the same problem — check out Section 4.3 of the Code Jam rules <https://codingcompetitions.withgoogle.com/codejam/rulesandterms> for more information. Spoiler alert: this can only improve your score! - Hidden test sets: you won't know whether you solved the Hidden set(s) correctly until the round is over though during the contest, the scoreboard will assume that all Hidden sets are correct. However, if you're not sure your solution(s) will pass those Hidden sets, you may wish to solve additional problems! - Online IDEs: In previous years, some of our contestants have used online development environments. There's no rule against doing that, but if you do use an online IDE, it is your responsibility to make sure nobody else can see your code. On at least one popular online IDE, your code is publicly visible by default. Look for that setting, and turn it off so you don't mistakenly violate our Terms. We'll send out official advancement emails at least one day before the following round. You'll also see your competition status in the "Alerts" section of your profile. Don't forget to review the Code Jam FAQ <https://codingcompetitions.withgoogle.com/codejam/faq> carefully and if you have questions during the round, use the "Ask a Question" feature in the competition interface.
