Yeah, that is missing. I will add this for the next release, if you be so kind to file a feature request for this on:
code.google.com/p/google-gdata that would be great. Essentially what is missing is a requestsettings constructor that takes care of this, and code in PrepareService that creates the correct factory basd on that...
