I've been playing around with the Contacts API for a while, and found annoying that some information could not be accessed. By syncing the contacts between devices I confirmed that Google was indeed keeping track of fields such as birthday, first and last name, but for some reason not the nickname (maybe it's an iPhone sync issue, as the sync itself is mainly a kludge built on top of a pseudo-Exchange server). I'm not sure if it's official or not yet, but I just wanted to let you all know that I was trying to see those "new" fields on the API and found out "by mistake" that they all can be accessed by changing the GData-Version header from 2 to 3. I'd like to confirm if this is in some kind of beta or is already public info, but for the meantime that means I can finally access those fields. I have yet to test updates to those new items, but I expect them to work. Keep up the good work. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Contacts API" group.
