I've posted a similar question on the Android dev forum, but maybe it
will get the proper audience here.

If I upload a photo using the API within the size constraints of
96x96px and later download that same photo, it does not match the
original photo uploaded. This is confirmed by comparing the Md5 hash
of both photos.

So, my question is, how exactly is Google modifying the photo? The
downloaded file has same dimensions, dpi, and it looks the same, but
the Md5 hash is different from the original and is a few bytes
smaller.

So...
1) What is changing?
2) Can it be prevented?
