I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the correct place, please forgive and redirect me if not. Here's a list of some fields which I think are missing from Google's contacts list.
More IM types: Bonjour, Facebook, Gadu-Gadu, GroupWise, IRC, MySpaceIM, SILC, SIMPLE, SameTime, XMPP and Zephyr. I think IRC is the most important here. Public key: For storing user signatures for GPG/PGP signed/encrypted emails. Alias: Like multiple nicknames, but for holding usernames for forums etc. My real name is Gareth Davidson, my nickname is Gaz, but I'm known as bitplane across the Internet. Website -> OpenID: Since everyone is providing OpenID nowadays it would be nice to have OpenID in there. Non-human contacts: A flag/tag for mailing lists, IM bots and so on. Maybe have an owner email field for these. Account level phone prefix: The number for Delta Taxis in Liverpool, UK, could be stored internationally as +441519247373, +44 (0)151 924 7373 or 00441519247373, as national number 0151 924 7373. If I lived in Liverpool then I might just have this number listed as 924 7373, if I was in the city centre then I might have it listed as 7373. Recognising that my number starts with +44 really means 0044, that an eleven digit number in region 0044 means subtract the trailing zero and add 0044, it could automatically align and resolve phone numbers for comparison. There's probably more, but I'll leave it at this for now!
