Hello, Are the userDefinedField returned by the API when requesting a contact entry? Do you know if this is only affecting you or other users that you may know of? Also, have you tried creating a userDefinedField using the user interface in the Contacts Manager in GMail? You just need to edit a contact and click on "Add a custom field" which will ask you for a key and value.
