Alain, Nico (in this forum thread) is able to reproduce this problem. If you contact him I'm suspect he'd be willing to point you to his account, allowing you to reproduce the incorrect behaviour whereby the <entry> <link> for the contact has an etag attribute but the photo doesn't actually exist.
