When we populate on various of our client´s GAL (the information is obtained from an Active Directory, maybe the source contains duplicated entries) we have found that, after insert all the information ,there are 2 contacts duplicated...
if the same process was ran but with previous version (for ex, not declarating the version protocol in the URL) the process throw the 409 exception, contact duplicated and the contact is not inserted. Thats the behaviour declared in http://code.google.com/intl/en/googleapps/domain/shared_contacts/gdata_shared_contacts_api_reference.html#Creating and that's what we expected...but after modified the process to manage rich information inside the entries, we faced this unexpected behaviour... I think this would be considered reported as a Bug.
