Hello Satish, I am not sure either if creating 2 groups with the same title is a bug or not. Maybe your application should have some logic to ensure that no such thing happen. One "easy" way would be to store the contact groups in a hash table key'ed by the group's title. If a key is already in use, that would mean that a duplicated group has been created.
About the duplicates, are you talking about the contacts? If this is the case, there is no method on the API to merge duplicates and this is only available through the web UI.
