I disagree. I've spent many hours reading all sorts of articles and documentations. All of them (including the one you linked) says: *"The Domain Shared Contacts API is only available to Google Apps for Business and Education accounts."* It should say that API is available for any type of account, but auto-complete works only for Business and Education.
