I too would like this functionality.  

We have a small business with paperwork for individual clients, and I would 
like to be able to scan those documents into PDF files, and then upload and 
associate them with the respective client.

But OK...since that feature is not available, Alain, could you explain what 
you mean by "using the documents list API"?
