I am trying to develop a spreadsheet gadget that can update certain
cells. My thinking is, if I am able to connect to the spreadsheet's
feed and send GET and POST requests from within the gadget, I can
update the necessary cells.

My question is this: Is this possible? How do I create a fully
functioning application within the gadget (using just Javascript and
XML of course) that can send these HTTP requests?

One option that I am thinking of is jQuery. Will it be possible to use
the jQuery library inside the gadget?
