Our host GoDaddy, took a look and said that is definitely not the server. Their best guess was that the code may only be trying to get a small amount of data but the traffic the request is generating is enormous, totally out of propostion. The analogy used was that it was like loading up all the phone books for the USA into memory then extracting the one page of numbers actually required. The equivalent scenario would be the API needing to retrieve every doc in the account before narrowing down to the one doc required. You may be able to tell that I am not the programmer so my analogies may be off the mark.
