I am curious if it is possible to set the contents of a cell using a
spreadsheet gadget? I want to be able to do some manipulations where
I read the contents of some cells, and then set the contents of other
cells. I'm not wanting to require any special language interpreters
on the client of the person running the script. The Gadgets API
offers visualizations which can run on a standard browser, but these
appear to be read only.

  The Google Apps Scripthttp://www.google.com/google-d-s/scripts/scripts.html
looked promising (JavaScript that runs on Googles' servers), but it
seems this interface isn't available yet and the preview is now
closed.

Any suggestions? Has anyone written some JavaScript that can run on
a client and manipulate the contents of cells? Am I possibly just not
looking at the right documentation, and Google offers this already?

Thanks.
