Hi michael,

Legacy API support will last indefinitely, because the new API is
largely renaming portions of the legacy API (a simple compatibility JS
file exists to support the legacy API in the sandbox). It will
probably be at least a few more months before the new API is rolled
out to a significant portion of users.

With that in mind, it's really your call. I'd personally recommend
using the new API if you can wait to launch your gadget.
