Okay, I'm used to that (as is anybody who ever used Google groups),
but this is a portal and it would seem that totals for things like
"meta tag issues" and other bits from Google's Webmaster tools would
not vary wildly from one day to the next. What use are tallies that
can never be trusted? And if this is how well these things work for
Google's own content, it doesn't inspire confidence that it can handle
outside data well.

And, of course, all of the "widgets" throw JavaScript exceptions on
page load (wouldn't expect anything less from Google's Javascript
developers.)

Was the idea to take a lightweight home page and replace it with
something that takes forever to get going and then adds no value
whatsoever? If so, it is another triumph of futility (see Google
Code, Google Groups, etc.)

When did "don't be evil" become "don't be competent?"
