Two problems:
1. I added new settings for my gadget and added a dismissable
minimessage pointing this out to users. Based on the numerous emails
I've received, many users don't know how to click the X and remove the
message! Is this typical? I guess I should give instructions in each
message about how to dismiss it.
And this comes up because of:
2. The problem still exists where the resize doesn't not correctly
consider space used by messages. Some of the content is therefore
hidden until the message is dismissed. This is actually what users are
writing me about ("content is being cut off! What happened?").
I hope #2 can be fixed soon so #1 won't be a concern anymore.
Has anyone else had users become confused by messages? Any
alternatives?
I've considered adding a flashing icon in the upper right of my gadget
content that would show a message when the user clicks on it (in my
gadget content, not as a minimessage). Anyone done that?
