Sorry, I don't have an answer for your specific question. Friends
Connect just started white-listing general developers less than a week
ago as far as I understand. You might have better luck with your
question in the dedicated Google Group available here:

If you just want to have non-social gadget rendered on a use page, you
might want to look into the syndicated gadget directory:
http://www.google.com/ig/directory?synd=open
This allow you to generate the HTML code to embed most gadgets to a
webpage. You could most likely put something in place to offer a
sublist of these gadgets to be added on the user homepage using this
syndicated method.

Another solution would be to implement Shindig on your website, which
would allow you to run your own gadget container:
http://incubator.apache.org/shindig/
This would be much more involved though.
