Hi there, After a change of your thumbnail or screenshot image, it will take up to 2 weeks for the directory to pickup the change. Changing the file name or not should not make any difference.
As you can see on the directory, the images are cached with URLs starting like this one: http://img0.gmodules.com/ig/cache/... If after 2 big weeks, you still do not see the new images on the directory, please post a message here with your gadget XML spec URL. Some fellow developers will have a pick at it to make sure this looks good, and some Googlers will see if something wrong is going on with the backend.
