Hi Cody, The gadgets.* API is not available in the production iGoogle.
Regarding your shareable-prefs question, I do not think this is tied to the new gadgets.* API in any way. As far as I remember, when I experimented with this a few months ago, this was working as expected. It would probably be a good idea for you to post your test gadget spec URL and explain what is not working as expected.
