Hi there, All I can say is that for me, quite a few hours after you posted your message, I can successfully disable caching on my development gadgets. I see that you are in the UK, so there might be an outage location specific (I am in the south east of the US) or this might have been a temporary problem.
Anyway, if you see this problem consistently, let people know by posting again on this thread, and I am sure that a Googler will take a look at that point.
