This may not be the best place to post this request, but seeing as how there really aren't any better ways to send an email to the Google Gadgets team, a forum post that is hopefully monitored by at least a few employees seemed like the best thing I could do. So, with that said, here's a simple request to the Google team responsible for the gadget directory:
It'd be really great if you could remove the porn or disable the pictures for the Google Gadget directory. Check it out here: http://www.google.com/ig/directory?synd=open (NSFW!!). That directory is the very first result in Google for "google gadgets" (sans quotes), and there are plenty of porn images in there for the advertisements for the myriad of gadgets! I know that Google "makes no representations about the content", but c'mon. I could see if maybe a developer had made a module where it wasn't immediately clear that it was porn, but it's a whole other ballpark when Google is hosting / displaying those images for a query that I suspect a lot of users would type (not to mention it's directly linked to in some of Community Server's stuff). Anyway, it's quite nasty and offensive.
