I doubt so, as the xml and javascript source is readable to everyone
so you wont be able to make money with a gadget for longer than a few
days. (if not hours)

Might be a completly different cup of tea for a gadget that logs into
a commercial (paid) webservice and displays information from there.
The gadget itself would be free, but the underlying webservice wouldnt
need to be.
