That's kind of specific to your hosting provider and your software. If
you're using the same web hosting for other pages you could troubleshoot by
trying to upload a plain html file and make sure you can browse to that. If
that doesn't work then look at your hosting provider's docs, they usually
have a how-to for ftp clients.
