Hi Eduardo, Deleting the gadget will cause it to rank lower in the directory but won't get it removed completely. The rationale is that your new gadget will rank much higher and the old one will drop in rank since it's not available.
If you want to remove the gadget from the directory, the best way to do that is through the iGoogle Developer Dashboard http://code.google.com/igoogle/dashboard/ . Another route is through the deletion request form at https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=cEhGZVVmVUNQVmI0eFc3N3pONG5QUEE6MA.
