Searching for your gadget in the directory doesn't generally work for up to a couple days after you've added it. Add your gadget to your dashboard at http://code.google.com/igoogle/dashboard/ and you'll get a link to see your gadget's listing in the directory.
Are you trying to make an "Add to iGoogle" button or trying to embed the actual gadget in a webpage? In the latter case you're probably looking for Google Friend Connect http://code.google.com/apis/friendconnect/ .
