on igoogle when you open a gadget in canvas view it is tied to a fixed element on the page. It appears to me also that the click occurs outside the gadget - certainly the 'maximise' button is outside the iframe.
i am trying to replicate this behaviour on my site: http://mms-oxford.com/test.html with the top gadget but a) i can't see how to call the navigateto method from outside the gadget and b) when i call it the canvas is a floating div not fixed. Sorry. This is a cross-post to the GFC forum but I think now the question is more gadget related than GFC related.
