The timeout I referred to earlier means that your server is most likely not sending the data to iGoogle soon enough when requested. It's very common for a server to be fast a lot of the time but have occasional spikes in latency during high traffic or cpu load from other services running on the same machine.
Try loading the page directly at different times of the day and different times of the week while using a profiling tool like the ones available with Firebug or recent webkit browsers (Safari or Chrome).
