Specifically for the Shared Goals gadget, this message is normal if you haven't elected to allow the gadget to see your friends group. Click the social icon at the top of the Shared Goals gadget and check the settings. Ensure that both boxes are checked and click the Save button. This worked for the account I tested on.
In the case of the other gadgets, make sure the users that have set the options I described. If they were previously set and now aren't, can you give a url for one of the gadgets?
