Hello all. I'm new to these forums and to iGoogle gadgets. I have searched these forums and I see two ways to complete my task. I was asked by a client to move their gadget from an old host server to a new one. The gadget is not changing in any way, just the host url. The gadget is hosted by the client and cannot be hosted on Google servers.
I believe I need to make an Alias Request on this page: http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=cEhGZVVmVUNQVmI1N2lvOW5nOGJNUFE6MA I need to create/edit the xml file in the Google Gadget Editor with the new host info. What I am uncertain about is whether I need to "Add" the gadget again to the dashboard or is just moving the files to the new server enough? Basically, is the procedure that I treat this move as if it were a new gadget? So Add it to the dashboard, verify it, etc. and then make the Alias Request? (Old gadget will be deleted) OR Do I move the files to the new server, create the new xml file, and then make the Alias Request? Also, what can I do if my client can't find the old gadget's "customer secret"? Thanks so much! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "iGoogle Developer Forum" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
