Well I figured out the HTML syntax error; there was a problem with this line in the google xml code:
<td class='cfg-general-buttons-outer-td 'colspan='2'> It should look like this: <td class='cfg-general-buttons-outer-td' colspan='2'> Once the correction was made, the gadget checker no longer reported any errors (although it still reports quite a few warnings). However the google gadget editor still gives the "Information is temporarily unavailable message."
