Since there doesn't seem to be widespread complaints about this, I'm guessing that it affects relatively few gadgets. My gadget and yours both have more Settings than most gadgets, so perhaps the problem doesn't affect gadgets with fewer settings? There don't appear to be any open bug reports for the same problem (random arrangement of settings fields), so I'll report it to Google and hope for the best. Dan.
