Sorry, friend. Tried Tuesday, Dec 6, 2011, 3:48PM MST. Two instances: (1) Typed "http://www.google.com/ig"; into address bar in iPad Safari. Was redirected to "http://www.google.com/webhp"; - which is a vanilla Google search screen, as you by now may well know.
(2)From Google's iPad version of Gmail, selected "more ▾" menu and selected "Web" therefrom. Was redirected to "http://www.google.com/ webhp?source=mog&gl=us" - which is the same vanilla search screen as described in instance (1). No change.
