I do not think this would break existing code.
if there was not any regexp group found (or the feature is not implemented
yet ie for
normal web.xml matching), then

patternMatcher.getPatternWithNamedGroups(request.getServletPath());
+ if ( map != null) {
+ for (Map.Entry<String,Object> entry: map.entrySet()) {
+ request.setAttribute(entry.getKey(),entry.getValue());
