Comment #7 on issue 506 by [email protected]: FactoryProvider2 can't accept
Provider<T> as an assisted type specified in the Factory interface

patch attached to make the error messaging explicit. there should be no
functional behavioral differences rather than erring before initialize() is
called, and with a more detailed error message.
