Guava is an excellent library that's getting progressively more widely used
as an external dependency in third-party Java libraries.
Guice should follow suit, thus encouraging Guice users to adopt the Guava
API too. Bundling a second copy of Guava inside Guice unnecessarily
duplicates its classes, adds bogus autocompletion suggestions to IDEs, and
consumes extra memory at runtime.
