Any JPA implementation works well with Guice via warp-persist: http://www.wideplay.com/guicewebextensions2
Warp-persist also supports db4o and the native Hibernate API directly. Warp-persist 2.0 will allow you to make your own simple persistence service module for iBatis or anything else you like (currently in trunk). Dhanji.
