We are pleased to announce the availability of new release (1.16.0) of the Java client library for GData.
Significant updates: 1. Added Java client support for Google Contacts API. 2. Samples are packaged separately from source code. With this change, there will be two packages, gdata-src.java.zip which contains the API source and gdata-samples.java.zip which contains samples and precompiled lib. With Contacts GData API you can seamlessly integrate your applications to access/update Google contacts. For additional details, refer to http://googledataapis.blogspot.com/2008/03/3-2-1-contact-api-has-landed.html. Also we have introduced a minor packaging change, which separates source from samples. With this change, every release will contain two packages, gdata-samples.java.zip and gdata-src.java.zip. If you are looking to develop cool applications on top of GData Java API, you can use the samples package which contains precompiled jars for each of the supported APIs and source code for samples using the API. If you would like to experiment with core API capabilities use the gdata-src package.
