This is a very strange thing and I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right forum, so please forgive me if it needs to go elsewhere.
I have written a small app that consumes the GMail ATOM feed. Very straight forward and it works great with a couple of very strange exceptions. I have, on several occasions received emails that have an invalid date. I say invalid for two reasons; 1) it is my understanding that the hour value can only go up to 23 and 2) my .NET code is throwing up when trying to parse the data in question (The DateTime represented by the string is not supported in calendar System.Globalization.GregorianCalendar). The odd thing is that this doesn't seem to be a problem with the GMail feed, but all of the messages in question come from googlegroups.com and I'm thinking that under some circumstances the list server is putting bad dates in some messages. Here is an example of the problem. As you can see in the entry node, both the modified and issues dates have hour values of "24". <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes" ?> - <feed version="0.3" xmlns="http://purl.org/atom/ns#"> <title>Gmail - Inbox for [email protected]</title> <tagline>New messages in your Gmail Inbox</tagline> <fullcount>1</fullcount> <modified>2008-12-11T20:07:02Z</modified> <link rel="alternate" href="http://mail.google.com/mail" type="text/ html" /> - <entry> <title>[PWA API] Video upload failure</title> <summary>Hi, I'm trying to upload video (mpeg or mp4, 5MB, 320x240), and it fails with 500 internal ...</summary> <modified>2008-12-10T24:18:18Z</modified> <issued>2008-12-10T24:18:18Z</issued> <id>tag:gmail.google.com,2004:1288641371625581994</id> <link rel="alternate" href="http://mail.google.com/mail? account_id=stevenjamesfrank %40gmail.com&message_id=11e22c7ffe9d6daa&view=conv&extsrc=atom" type="text/html" /> - <author> <name>Anna G</name> <email>[email protected]</email> </author> </entry> </feed> --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Data Protocol" group.
