If I were the Google CEO
Google Search has become a laughingstock in the media, all due to AI
Overviews. If I were the Google CEO, I would:
1) Immediately order AI Overviews turned off for everyone who hadn't
opted-in to it via Labs.
2) Publicly apologize.
3) Not deploy it broadly again until such a time (if ever) that the
fundamental problems are solved and users have an opt-out if they
don't want the AI Overviews.
Since I'm not the Google CEO, don't hold your breath for these steps.
But hope springs eternal.
