My national radio topic this evening: The widespread criticism of Google's
Gemini AI commercial aired during the Olympics
Tonight on my usual Monday evening national network radio tech
segment, I'll be discussing how generative AI has become a "mediocrity
machine", training people to depend on it for poor quality writing,
art, and more. My example will be a new Google commercial for their
Gemini AI aired during the Olympics, which is being widely criticized
as unwittingly revealing so much of what is so wrong about the ways
that generative AI is being pushed by these firms.
