Eric's worst comments
Eric Schmidt has attempted to recant the most controversial statements
in the interview video that Stanford is now suppressing. But he said
what he said. Among the more controversial statements (not exactly his
words, but a summary):
He opined that Google had fallen behind in AI and had to rush to catch
up because the firm cared too much about its employees' work/life
balance, rather than just working them as hard as possible and going
for the AI jugular early on.
He discussed how AI firms can just grab whatever content they want and
then use lawyers after the fact to try clean up the mess.
As I said earlier, he made quite a few very insightful comments, but
the awful ones are indeed pretty awful. -L
